Neglected blog?
I know this blog looks neglected, but it’s because our school is in the process of using a brand new school webpage that has blogs and all sorts of built-in Web 2.0 features. I’m trying to use it for blogging and creating websites/pages so that everything can be in the same place.
Check out the library page here! Click on Middle/High School for more pages including Battle of the Books and Web 2.0 Tools.
Battle of the Books
Battle of the Books is coming soon! Are you ready? Both middle and high school students will have the opportunity to form their own teams of up to 10 students in October. These teams will commit to conquering 10 chosen book titles and will battle in February with other teams. This year we will host 2 separate competitions: one for middle school students and one for high school students. Stay tuned for more updates. The book titles for each competition will be unveiled at the end of October!
The best first chapter you’ll ever read
At least, that’s what the e-mail about this book said…

Want to know more about the book?
I love my library!
Hopefully you really do…
Please enter us in this sweepstakes to win an audio book collection! We don’t have any audio books in our library and this would be a great way to begin our collection!
This school year…
What are you reading? What books do you HAVE to have as soon as they are published?
I’m trying hard to keep up, but I certainly can use any and all help from my readers. Let me know about books that are coming out soon that I need to order ASAP!
I’m still recovering from Mockingjay and have not found another book to hold my interest since. What should I read?
Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
Yesterday was an exciting day for many readers. Mockingjay, the final book in the Hunger Games trilogy was released.
Students at RMHS had the opportunity to enter their name in a drawing at our library to be one of the first 4 to check out a copy and/or win the 1 copy that was given away to keep.
The UPS man didn’t make it to our school with our 5 copies until 3:45 on Tuesday afternoon, but one devoted student whose name had been drawn stayed until he could take his library copy home and begin reading.
If you’re interested in reading one of the library copies, please place a HOLD in the catalog or ask Mrs. Gick to help you place a hold. This book is awesome!
If you’re new to the Hunger Games series, it’s time for you to check out the first book by Suzanne Collins and see what the fuss is all about.
